The kidneys house approximately one million small clusters of intertwined blood vessels, each of which is referred to as a glomerulus. In plural, we term them glomeruli. Each glomerulus is linked to a petite tube called a tubule, and this combination of a glomerulus and tubule is recognized as a nephron. Remarkably, there are around one million nephrons in each kidney within the body.<\/p>\n
The primary function of the glomeruli is to filter the blood, allowing waste products and fluids to pass through the tubule, eventually transforming into urine.
