The primary requirement is that the kidney donor is in good health, willing, and at least 18 years old. Additionally, kidney donors should be free of cancer, diabetes, kidney disease, heart disease, and high blood pressure. Blood type compatibility is not mandatory between the donor and the recipient; however, the donor will undergo a comprehensive testing process to assess blood type and compatibility.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s essential to know that kidney donors can lead normal, active lives with only one kidney, and the occurrence of death due to kidney donation is exceedingly rare.
